Until now, most of my research has been in the UK and Australia. Now I've found that some of my Scottish folk settled in Shelton, Connecticut, and I've found what is likely the death of one of them in 1926. I'm really hoping that there's an easier way to obtain a death certificate than what I've found so far. Everyone seems to want payment via postal order rather than credit card (and somehow I don't think an Australia Post Money Order will cut it), the forms only list US states as place to send the certificate to, and I don't fit into any category that the faster certificate delivery requires (plus it's rates are exorbitant anyway). Can anyone more familiar with Connecticut research give me some pointers please? Thanks in advance. Thank you for your responses. I found what I believe to be her death on the pilot Family Search site, but wasn't aware that I could order a certificate through the LDS. That might be the way to go. For what it's worth, the death I'm interested in is Ruth Ritchie, died Shelton, Connecticut 21 March 1926. I'm fairly certain it's her, as her and her brother James were living in Shelton in the 1930 census (name written as Richie), but it would be nice to have the certificate with her parents names included just to verify. Or if parents names aren't included on Connecticut death certificates for some reason, if one of her brothers, James or Ebenezer, were an informant for her death, that would be further proof. It's all a bit daunting given how easy it's been to order certificates in Australia and the UK so far. For some reason I was expecting the US to be easier, I don't know why.... Read More »
